  • The academic research library I worked in had standing orders with major global book companies - the subject librarians developed lists of disciplines, subjects, and themes for which the library was actively acquiring books and other materials. Pallets of publications would arrive on an "on approval" basis; those chosen to add to the 🍎collections woul🍰d be invoiced and payed for, and those rejected would be returned.
