John_Crippen_Photography commented on the word photographer
Someone who's primary income in earned by taking photos. There are many different ways professional photographers can earn money through their images. Selling artistic prints, shooting specific places/items/people on assignment, licensing images to publishers, writing their own books, offering expedition and/or teaching photography to others, and often simply bartering with other businesses. The trick to being a professional photographer is 30% talent, 30% tenacity, and 40% luck! I cannot think of a more rewarding career though. Mind your paperwork, too :)July 7, 2009
